No, Merit America selects academic programs from third-party providers and connects learners to those programs. While some programs may include certificates, it’s important to note that these certificates are awarded by the respective third-party providers. For instance, the IT Support program certificate is awarded by Google.
Merit America is a career development nonprofit that provides a path to skilled careers for adults. We combine flexible, part-time training for in-demand careers with best-in-class career coaching and peer support, to build a new pathway to the middle class for hundreds of thousands of Americans stuck in low-wage work.
We teach the skills employers need through “blended” learning programs, which combine the best of online learning with live support. All of our technical training and certificates are offered by 3rd party training providers like Google. Our program includes weekly small group meetings and 1:1s with a dedicated career coach, in addition to community-wide events.
Merit America has already helped more than three thousand adults advance their careers, and we are on track to serve 100,000 Americans and generate $1 billion in wage gains within ten years.
According to a 2023 study of the first 3000 learners who completed the program, those who complete the Merit America program saw an average annual wage increase of $24,000 three or more months post-completion. Learn more about the study here.

The program utilizes a variety of digital platforms and tools such as Zoom, Slack, Google Workspace, and our dedicated Merit America Learner Portal to facilitate an immersive and interactive learning experience.
