André Jordan Jr.

Program Success Coach

André is joining Merit America after serving as the Assistant Director in the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities at UNC Greensboro. Before this, André has worked with student leadership development, Housing and Residence Life, student accessibility, and many other functions within higher education and student affairs. He has worked on many committees and special projects focusing on things such as bias and hate prevention, first-generation student success, student transition and development, and Black student success. As a person from a low-income background himself, André has always felt a passion for advocating for people of all experiences to have access to life-sustaining opportunities, and it was this very passion that drew him to Merit America.

In his free time, André can be found watching a variety of TV shows, taking trips to the movie theater, traveling, or enjoying live theater and concerts. He also constantly spends time with friends, family, and his adorable pup, Onyx Giselle (his middle name was adopted from Beyoncé, André’s favorite musical artist). André is incredibly excited to join the Merit America team and assist in furthering the organization’s missions and goals.
