VP of Growth
Ebony Furr is the Vice President of Growth at Merit America, where she leads both the Marketing and Admissions teams, driving learner acquisition and optimizing the admissions journey from application to program launch. She oversees the full lifecycle of prospective learners, from initial engagement and recruitment to program enrollment, ensuring a seamless, data-driven, and high-impact experience.
Before transitioning to the education and workforce development space, Ebony served 14 years in the U.S. Army, where she honed her expertise in leadership, logistics, and process optimization. She held roles as an enlisted Medic, Human Resources Sergeant, Engineer Officer, and Drill Sergeant, leading teams in high-pressure environments and managing large-scale training initiatives. Her military experience—spanning deployments to Iraq and Cuba—shaped her ability to build and lead high-performing teams with a strong operational focus.
Ebony holds an MBA with a Leadership concentration from the University of Houston Downtown. Passionate about innovation, equity, and workforce transformation, she continues to drive initiatives that break barriers for underserved populations. In addition to her professional work, she is the founder of Ebony Furr Fitness, advocating for health, discipline, and personal growth as pillars of success.
