Yes! Merit America provides a blended learning environment where you will participate in live virtual meetings and complete coursework independently online from our training partner Google.
We use digital workplace platforms and software, including Zoom, Slack, Google Suite, and our customized Merit America Learner Portal as tools.
The time commitment for our programs typically involves dedicating 20-25 hours per week , including mandatory weekly Zoom meetings with your assigned squad and coach. You will select the day and time of these meetings just before your program begins. There will be several options to choose from that best fit your schedule.
Aside from the mandatory meetings, work assignments are done asynchronously. You will have the flexibility to complete these assignments at your own pace and submit them via our Learners Portal by 6 p.m. local time every Monday.

However, please note that while the program is demanding, you will have the support and guidance of our dedicated coaches throughout the journey. Our coaches are here to assist you with various aspects of your professional development, including resume building, interviewing skills, technical skills, and overall career advancement. They are there to help you navigate the challenges and maximize your learning outcomes.

Additionally, Merit America alumni who have earned a Google Career Certificate can petition universities and colleges for credits as well. The American Council on Education (ACE) recommends 12 credit hours for the Data Analytics Certificate and the IT Support Certificate, and 10 credit hours for the UX Design Certificate.

Our Java Development program focuses on learning back-end development through the Java programming language, but you’ll also be introduced to Spring, REST APIs, SQL, Database Design, and Data Access throughout the program. You will learn core programming concepts and be equipped to write programs to solve complex problems. In addition, you will gain the foundational skills a software engineer needs to solve real-world problems, from designing algorithmsto utilizing design patterns as well as testing and debugging your programs.
You will also hone your professional skills and chart your career roadmap with the help of a professional career coach.
Upon completing the program, you will be prepared to enter Java Development-related roles such as Junior Java Developer, Software Engineer, etc. Learners who completed the program has landed jobs in both front-end and back-end development.
The Java Development program is a 22 week training program.
The Java Development program does not provide a specific certificate or certification upon completion. However, the program offers valuable technical training and expertise in Java programming.
During the program, you will learn the Java programming language. You’ll also be introduced to Spring, REST APIs, SQL, Database Design, and Data Access throughout the program. You will learn core programming concepts and be equipped to write programs to solve complex problems. In addition, you will gain the foundational skills a software engineer needs to solve real-world problems, from designing algorithms to utilizing design patterns as well as testing and debugging your programs.

Our IT Support program technical training is offered by Google and focuses on performing day-to-day IT support tasks, including computer assembly, wireless networking, installing programs, and customer service. You will learn to use systems including Linux, Domain Name Systems, Command-Line Interface, and Binary Code. In addition to technical training, you will also hone your professional skills and chart your career roadmap with the help of a professional career coach.
Upon completing the program, you will be prepared to enter IT-related roles such as Help Desk Specialist, Technical Support Agent, Technical Account Specialist, etc.
The IT Support program is a 14-week training program.
Upon completion of the IT Support program, you will receive the Google IT Support Professional Certificate.
Our Data Analytics program technical training is offered by Google and focuses on gaining an immersive understanding of the practices and processes used by junior or associate data analysts in their day-to-day job. You will learn critical analytical skills (data cleaning, analysis, & visualization) and tools (spreadsheets, SQL, R programming, Tableau). You will understand how to clean and organize data for analysis and complete analysis and calculations using spreadsheets, SQL, and R programming. You will learn to visualize and present data findings in dashboards, presentations, and commonly used visualization platforms.

Upon completing the program, you will be prepared to enter Data Analytics-related roles such as Data Technician, Associate Data Analyst, Data Import Analyst, Operations Coordinator, Technical Specialist, etc.
The Data Analytics program is a 19-week training program.
Upon completion of the Data Analytics program, you will receive the Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate.
Our UX Design program technical training course is offered by Google. This program focuses on user-centric problem-solving, empathy-building research methodologies and introduction to Figma, and AdobeXD. You will learn entry-level skills, including: understanding what makes existing products difficult to use, exploring what can make people’s experiences great, and designing wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to bring those ideas to life.

Upon completing the program, you will be prepared to enter UX Design-related roles such as a generalist or a specialist in a variety of UX design-related roles, including: UX Designer, UX Design Speciality, Product Designer, Interaction Designer, Visual Designer, UX researcher, UX/UI Designer, and more.
The UX Design program is a 22-week training program.
Upon completion of the UX Design program, you will receive the Google UX Design Professional Certificate.
Merit America programs include both technical training from organizations like Google as well as professional skills development. You will learn technical content from Google, and receive a Google Project Management Professional Certificate. You will also learn and practice critical professional skills with Merit America coaches.
The Google Project Management Professional Certificate will prepare you to adeptly manage both agile and traditional projects. Equipped with a versatile toolkit encompassing schedules, budgets, and requirements, you will gain a deep understanding of organizational dynamics, effective communication, and leadership styles.
Practical skill development includes crafting project charters, defining goals, and mastering stakeholder communication. Methodologies explored range from traditional project management to agile frameworks like Scrum. The program also immerses participants in a comprehensive suite of tools, including Gantt charts, RACI charts, Kanban boards, and Asana.
In addition to technical training, support from your professional career coach will help you hone your professional skills and chart a roadmap for your project management career.
Upon completing the program, you’ll be well-prepared to enter diverse project management-related roles, including but not limited to Project Assistant, Project Coordinator, Project Analyst, Project Manager, Technical Project Manager, Scrum Master, and Program Manager, among others
The Project Management program is a 17-week training program.
Upon completion of the Project Management program, you will receive the Google Project Management Professional Certificate.
Merit America programs include both technical training from organizations like Google as well as professional skills development. You will learn technical content from Google, and receive a Google Cybersecurity Certificate. You will also learn and practice critical professional skills with Merit America coaches.
Upon completing the Google Cybersecurity Certificate, you’ll develop a comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity practices, covering topics such as Information Security, Network Security, TCP/IP, Cryptography, Threat Analysis, and Security Frameworks like NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) and Risk Management Framework (RMF). This hands-on program also equips you with practical experience in Python, Linux, SQL, and essential tools including Splunk, Chronicle, Wireshark, Tcpdump, and Suricata. The curriculum spans security domains such as Network Architecture, Threat Detection, Security Audits, Incident Response Playbooks, and Packet Analysis, emphasizing real-world skills to protect networks, devices, and data from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
In addition to technical training, support from your professional career coach will help you hone your professional skills and chart a roadmap for your cybersecurity career.
Upon completing the program, you’ll be well-prepared to enter diverse cybersecurity-related roles, including but not limited to Junior Security Analyst, Junior Incident Responder, Tier I SOC Analyst, SOC Technician, Junior Network Administrator, Network Support Technician, Network Security Analyst, Help Desk Technician, IT Support Specialist, Desktop Support Technician, Information Security Technician, Junior Vulnerability Manager, and Vulnerability Analyst, among others.
The Cybersecurity program is a 21-week training program.
Upon completion of the Cybersecurity program, you will receive the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate.
