Lal Jones-Bey

Lal is the Chief Financial Officer at Merit America. Lal joins Merit after serving as the Chief Operating Officer with The Oakland REACH, a parent advocacy organization that works to ensure that families in Oakland and beyond have access to a high-quality education for their children. Lal began his career as a consultant with Bain and Company and has since worked for a range of education organizations, including charter schools (KIPP Northern California, Making Waves Academy) and education technology companies (Coursera, Schoolzilla). Lal holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. In his personal time, Lal enjoys spending time with his fiancee, Tanya, and his three children, Khalil, Khari and Chaya.
