Maurice Davis

Maurice joins Merit America having served as a Senior Student Success Coach in St. Louis, Missouri. After completing his Master’s degree in Sociology from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville, he has spent over eight years working in higher education in various capacities including residential life, youth development and summer programming, and academic advising and student success. His work focuses on marginalized/undeserved populations, first generation college students, queer studies, and African American communities. He is extremely passionate about community service and engagement. Some of his hobbies include trying new experiences, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Maurice is excited to join the Merit America team and to help positively transform the lives of future learners. “If I can help somebody as I pass along, If I can cheer somebody with a word or a song. If I can show somebody he’s traveling wrong, Then my living will not be in vain.
