Nikiesha Lawson

Nikiesha “Nik” Lawson comes to Merit America with 10 years of experience in retail, people leadership and program development. An educational background attending University of Windsor for her undergrad in Psychology and graduating from Toronto Metropolitan University in Human Resource Management. Her professional experience includes her roles in operations, talent acquisition and working as a people leader and coach. She has had the opportunity to work cross-functionally to develop, implement and onboard several district and national projects and programs to increase employee engagement, improve operational efficiency and foster a more inclusive environment with a more culturally sensitive lens. She also has worked in the non-profit and community space with a keen interest and impact supporting under-represented individuals seeking professional advancement opportunities and assisting them through creating and facilitating intentional programs, events and connections to grow their network, and leverage mentorships.

Nikiesha’s success has derived from her passion for people, strategies and innovation for every individual or organization she works with. She has a strong desire for those she works with, in whatever capacity, to acquire the skills and tools that they require to be independent-fueling confidence and overall fulfillment.

When she’s not working- she loves to travel and has visited 11 countries and islands to-date and loves to experience and immerse herself in the essence of a new place. When she’s not travelling, she lives in Maryland, enjoys going to the gym, trying out new restaurants and spending time or facetime with her family & friends.
