Job Placement (Job Success)
Everything you need to know about the job success process
The Job Success phase officially begins once you’ve completed all the technical curriculum in your Merit America program. This phase is designed to help you secure a new job and typically spans 12 weeks. If, however, you find yourself still job searching at the end of these initial 12 weeks, you have the option to extend your support from your job success specialist for an additional 12 weeks.
The Job Success phase of the Merit America program is a unique journey for each applicant, and its duration depends on various factors. Typically, this phase spans 12 weeks, during which you’ll receive guidance and support in your job search. However, it might be shorter if you successfully secure a new job or receive a promotion within this timeframe. If you find that you are still job searching at the end of the initial 12 weeks, don’t worry; you can continue working with your job success specialist for an additional 12 weeks to further enhance your job search prospects.
Yes, just like other parts of the Merit America program, all learners are expected to attend live sessions, 1:1 and group settings. These sessions are designed to maximize your ability to land a great new job faster. You must stay in contact with your job success specialist during this phase.

Yes, you can. While we strive to help you secure the best possible job offer, we understand that there may be circumstances where you are open to accepting a position that pays less than $40,000. At Merit America, we value the overall experience and long-term career opportunities that a job can provide. Sometimes, taking a slightly lower-paying position can offer valuable experience, skill development, or the opportunity to work with a desired employer. We encourage you to consider the potential benefits beyond immediate salary when evaluating job offers.
We always encourage you to negotiate your job offer if possible. Your coaches will advise you on your situation, but employment is a complex relationship with a lot of dimensions. While a higher salary may not be feasible at the moment, you can explore negotiating options such as an early salary review, remote work arrangements, or other alternative benefits. The most important thing is that we want you to get more than just “another job.” We want this new opportunity to be a gateway to your new career!
While we cannot guarantee remote job opportunities, we are committed to assisting you in your job search. If you have an interest in remote work after completing the program, your job success specialist will actively assist you in identifying and pursuing suitable remote job opportunities.
Merit America does not require you to accept any job offer. Our goal is to help you find a position that meets your objectives.
