In 2019, Joey joined a social impact agency that collaborated with religious, academic, and community organizations to address intersectional racial injustice and inequality issues. His commitment to driving positive change extends to his research and published works, which have been featured at more than 35 regional, national, and international conferences. He has a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Mississippi and a Doctor of Education degree from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX.
