Katie Rakusin
Director, Talent Acquisition
As the Director of Talent Acquisition, Katie Rakusin is responsible for ensuring that Merit America attracts, retains, and develops a diverse team of talented team members as the organization scales. Katie is passionate about finding and hiring great people who are excited to make an impact with our learners. As a talent leader, Katie believes that all stakeholders in the hiring process are important, and places a strong emphasis on candidate experience.
Prior to joining Merit America, Katie worked with KIPP DC Public Schools for over a decade, holding various positions on the recruitment team. In her last role as Senior Director of Recruitment, she created a vision and strategy to ensure equitable hiring practices and a strong team culture. Katie began her career as a special education teacher in Washington, DC, and she received her B.A. from UNC-Chapel Hill (go heels!).
