Tammara Walker is a Sr. Job Success Specialist at Merit America and has a desire for helping others obtain social mobility, psychological capital and safety, and economic
independence. She is a NCDA Certified Clinical Supervisor of Career Counselors and Practitioners with over 18 years’ experience as a practitioner, and most recently studying how implicit bias affects Career Counseling and Coaching. She has coined herself as a “Good Trouble Starter”; the kind of trouble that leaves spaces and places elevated, and people restored. Prior to joining Merit America, she has worked in Higher Education and Community Action Agencies.
She graduated from Tusculum College in Greeneville, TN with a Master’s Degree of Adult Education and a concentration in Human Resource Development, a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management, and an A.A.S Degree in Business from Walters State Community College. She was born in West Virginia, raised in Tennessee (GO VOLS!), and now resides in North Carolina with her daughter, Gentry 23 and son, Joshua, 22. In her spare time, she loves watching football being a big VOLS and Cleveland Browns fan, basketball (GO DUKE; GO CELTICS!), having car concerts, and spending time with her family.
