What is Merit America?
Merit America is a national nonprofit that helps working adults earning under $40,000 a year move into higher-paying tech and business careers. It is not a school or a bootcamp. Merit America provides career coaching and a structured part-time pathway, while the coursework and credentials come from third-party providers such as Google, HRCI, and ASCM.
Are these career tools actually free?
Yes. Every tool and resource on this page is free to use, and you can browse the whole page without signing up or creating an account. You do not need to apply to a Merit America program to use any of them.
Do I have to enroll in a program to use them?
No. The tools are open to anyone and none of them need an application. Use the career match quiz, the salary explorer, the AI prompt library, and the workplace English assessment as often as you like, and take the next step whenever the timing works for you.
Who is Merit America for?
Working adults who are earning under $40,000 a year and want a higher-paying career, but need to keep working while they train. Programs are part-time and built around a job, and every learner works with a coach.
What results do learners actually see?
Merit America has served more than 20,000 learners to date, with $1.4 billion in cumulative wage gains. Alumni see an average annual wage increase of $21,000, and the alumni success rate is 75 percent.
What does a Merit America program cost?
